What affects the price of Czech garnets
Czech garnet jewellery is assessed by stone quality, size, colour, setting, age and overall condition. Antique or signed pieces can have collector value beyond the metal price.
Tombac, silver and gold settings
Garnets can be set in tombac, silver or gold. In tombac pieces, the value is mainly in the stones and workmanship. In silver or gold pieces, the precious metal is assessed separately.
How authenticity is checked
We inspect colour, cut, optical properties, setting style and any marks. Older Czech garnet pieces often have typical construction and design details.
